About Heather

Heather Mojelski, Founder and Principal Developer of RetroDev Studio

I’m Heather Mojelski, the founder and hands-on developer behind RetroDev Studio (formerly Copper Owl Development). I’ve spent close to three decades building software, designing systems, leading digital projects, and helping organizations make sense of technology. Over the years I’ve learned that most people don’t need complicated tools, they need clear ones. They also need someone who can translate the technical side into something they can actually understand and maintain. That’s where I do my best work.

My experience spans software development, SaaS platforms, systems design, database work, project management, and teaching technology to adults. I’ve supported nonprofits, small businesses, community groups, education settings, and government related environments. I’ve rebuilt legacy systems, modernized outdated processes, designed custom applications, and guided teams through technical decisions that used to feel overwhelming. I enjoy turning something tangled into something clean and predictable.

While I love the charm of retro aesthetics, I’m equally passionate about the future. I’m interested in the future of work, emerging development technologies, AI, automation, and the constant evolution of how people interact with digital tools. I like exploring what’s next while keeping both feet firmly planted in practicality. That mix of retro and forward thinking is a big part of what shapes my approach at RetroDev Studio.

Heather is a hard worker and is very knowledgeable at what she does. I have worked with Heather on a few projects now and she is very skilled at programming and web design. She is very easy to work with, and always gets the project done on time!
I would 100& recommend Heather!

On a personal level, I’m a cat person, a gamer, a tech tinkerer, and someone who likes making complex things feel accessible. I believe work should feel collaborative and grounded, not chaotic or confusing. I bring that energy into every project, combining curiosity, creativity, and steady delivery.

At RetroDev Studio, I’m the one doing the work. There are no handoffs or mystery contractors. You get clear communication, honest expectations, and a build you can understand and maintain long after it’s launched. If you’re looking for someone who blends experience with personality, and who can bridge old systems and new technologies without the jargon, you’re in the right place.

Feel free to check out my personal website or check out my LinkedIn. I would be happy to connect!
